Expertise

Global Safety

SME Environment participates in the development of expertise to bolster “global safety”, meaning to “ensure the safety of people and goods in an environment of liberty and justice.” (European security strategy adopted by the European Council in 2003.

SME Environment has the specific competencies needed to integrate the chemicals and explosives aspects of NRBCE (nuclear, radiological, biological, chemical, explosives) threats. Over the years we have built up the requisite skills and expertise through our work for industry and defense, and our experience as a producer of chemicals for energetic materials.

Our skills range from facilitating detection of toxic chemicals and explosives to assessing the impact of terrorist and malicious acts.

SME Environment is part of the research consortium that submitted project proposals to the European Commission (PERS, 7th PCRD) and the National Research Agency (PGCU, CSOSG).
